Waterford Area Woman Found Safe; Silver Alert Now Issued for a Kenosha Man

Silver Alert canceled for Kenosha man

(WGTD)---An elderly Town of Waterford woman--missing since Monday night--was found alive Thursday afternoon in a swampy area.

85-year-old Karen Wandrey, who suffers from dementia, was rescued after a Racine County Sheriff's Department investigator using a infrared-equipped drone spotted something suspicious, according to Waterford Town Chair Teri Jendusa-Nicolai.

According to a news release from the Sheriff's Dept.,, Wandrey is currently under medical evaluation and is in stable condition. 

The department put out a lengthy news release thanking various law enforcement, fire and EMS agencies, volunteer groups and even the National Guard for participating in the three-day-long search. 

The release did not delve into the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and rescue, only saying Wandrey is receiving care "due to the conditions she endured over the last 3 days."

A department spokesperson said a news conference was being planned for next week. 

Meanwhile, authorities are searching for an 89-year-old Kenosha man who apparently walked away from his apartment on the city's north side in the 2500 blk. of 18th St. Robert Vines is Black, bald, and 5' 9". He was last seen Wednesday evening. Anyone with information is asked to call the police department.
