Uptown Racine Bars Draw Attention of City Officials

Nov. 26, 2023 10:50a

(WGTD)---A couple of bars a few blocks apart in Racine’s Uptown neighborhood have some explaining to do. The owners have been ordered to appear Monday night before the city’s Public Safety and Licensing Committee to explain several alleged infractions.

Shikeyla Buckley operates a tavern called the “Fifteen-Eighteen.” The meeting will be at least the second time that Buckley has been ordered to appear before the committee. This time, the committee members plan to ask about seven alleged violations, including operating past closing hours, selling alcohol online and operating or advertising as an adult entertainment establishment. Committee members will also want to know about allegations that the bar has been charging people to park in a nearby city-owned lot.

The other bar on the hot seat is a place called the Sports Pub. The place was recently cited for operating after hours and refusing admittance to police officers who were there to conduct an inspection.
