Two Fatal Crashes, Chelsea Clinton in Racine; Dream Playground Update

UPDATE: Crash Victim Identified

Paddock Lake---A one-vehicle crash early Sunday morning claimed the life of a 29-year-old man from Somers. According to a release from the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department, Jarron Lemay missed a curve on County "NN" north of the village and slammed into a tree. Speed and alcohol were believed to be factors in the accident.

Mt. Pleasant---A 20 year-old man was killed when he was struck while trying to cross Sheridan Road in pre-dawn darkness Sunday. According to a news release from the Mt. Pleasant Police Dept., the accident happened north of Chicory Rd. at about 4:30. The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 27 year old woman from Racine who is cooperating in the investigation. It wasn't immediately clear why the man had been trying to cross the four-lane highway at that hour of the night.

Racine---Chelsea Clinton will be campaigning for her mother at Living Light Community Center on College Ave. Monday afternoon. She'll be joined by Senator Tammy Baldwin at an event that's scheduled to begin at 1. It's open to the public, but an electronic RSVP is required by going to the Clinton campaign web site.

Kenosha---Several key issues will be coming up before Kenosha aldermen Monday evening as they meet in committees. License and Permit is scheduled to continue discussions on an ordinance that regulates on-line home-sharing. The Parks Commission will get an update on the Dream Playground. And the Board of Water Commissioners is expected to hear the latest on the investigation into old gasoline that somehow seeped into sewers near Sheridan Road and 52nd Street, exuding a stench on several occasions this past summer that sent crews flushing the pipes with water.
