Home Explosion is a Crime Scene
Racine County authorities now say two bodies have been pulled from the wreckage of a home that exploded in the Town of Burlington on Saturday afternoon. Those victims have not yet been identified.
In a news release---issued yesterday---the sheriff’s office said that the circumstances surrounding the explosion are suspicious---and---as the investigation continues---it is being treated as a crime scene. The sheriff’s office is continuing its efforts to confirm that a third person was in the home on Ketterhagen Road at the time of the incident---and---they are trying to identify and locate that individual.
Firefighters were dispatched around 3:15 on Saturday afternoon on a report of smoke and flames coming from the home. Then---there was a large explosion before crews arrived. The home was completely leveled by the explosion.
