(WGTD)---The proposed Kenosha city hall replacement building is expected to come up for discussion at Monday's regularly-scheduled meeting of the City Council’s Public Works Committee.
According to the agenda, “project milestones” are expected to be discussed.
The new building—to go up at the corner of Sheridan Rd. and 56th St.---would be part of a 25-acre downtown redevelopment project. The current Municipal Building would be demolished.
Although the city recently hired a project manager, the identity of the developer has yet to be revealed. And for that matter, the City Council has yet to give its formal blessing to the project.
Under the deal that’s being cooked up, the developer would bear the cost of construction and then lease the building to the city. The block would include a parking ramp that the city would build and own outright.
