Three people died in two separate traffic accidents in the WGTD listening area over the weekend.
The first occurred Friday evening on Highways 12/67 north of Elkhorn.
Two pick-up trucks collided head-on. The driver of the truck that crossed the centerline—24 yeas-old Eufemio Jimenez Ferrel of Round Lake—was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, 52 year-old Ronald Passfield of Genoa City—died later at the hospital. A passenger in Passfield’s pick-up, 51 year-old Jill Krane, also of Genoa City, suffered severe, but non-life threatening injuries, according to a news release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Dept. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
In Kenosha County early Sunday morning, the driver of a compact car was killed when the driver of a S-U-V allegedly ran a four-way stop at ‘K-R’ and ‘H.’ Dead is 46 year-old Johnny Galloway of Kenosha. The driver of the S-U-V was identified as 22 year-old Christopher Roberson of Fontana. The investigation into that crash is continuing as well. The accident happened just after 7 a.m.
