Coopers Uptown, Formerly Jack Andrea's, Set to Open Next week.

Oct. 19, 2022 8:45p

(WGTD)---A beloved institution for many in the Kenosha area is expected to reopen at noon Wednesday Oct. 26th, with normal operating hours beginning the following day.

The family-run Jack Andrea's closed last year after more than a century in business. The building--at the corner of 60th St. and 24th Ave.--was purchased by Jockey, which has its headquarters across the street.

Although the business has been renamed Coopers Uptown--in a nod to company founder the Rev. Samuel T. Cooper--the format and hometown 'feel' of the store is comparable to the old Andrea's. The cafe and soda fountain remain, along with the humidor and a wide selection of gifts.

Former art gallery and framing store owner Vicki Seebeck has been named general manager. The head chef is Chelsea Dominguez. Both are Kenosha natives.

Coopers Uptown will be open seven days a week.
