(WGTD)----12-year-old Racine native Liamani Segura announced Thursday that she is recording her first in studio project with a Grammy award winning production and support team that includes R&B Icon Usher and the legendary Wanya Morris from Boyz II Men. The name of at least one song on the project is reportedly “Magnetic.”
Usher famously introduced then 15-year-old Justin Bieber to the recording industry in 2008 and is one of the best selling acts in music history in his own right with hits "Yeah" and "Without You." Morris is a member of Boyz II Men; one of the most famous R&B groups in music history behind hits “On Bended Knee," “I’ll Make Love To You," and "End of the Road."
Segura's production team is full of heavy hitters including producers Eric and Jovan Dawkins, who were behind several hit projects with Justin Bieber, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Snoog Dogg, and supergroup TLC. Jovan said via Instagram that Segura is one of his "favorite female vocalists ever.”
In an Instagram post Thursday Segura said the recording sessions were “legendary.”
Segura’s latest video on YouTube with vocal coach Cheryl Porter has over 2 million views. Watch it below.
No word on when the song will be released or if an album is in the works. Segura is performing Friday, August 13th as the opening act for Boyz II Men at the Wisconsin State Fair. You can purchase tickets for that show here.
