(WGTD)---A Racine man was formally charged in Kenosha court Friday after he was observed displaying a gun and acting strangely near the Dimensions of Learning charter school in Kenosha's uptown neighborhood Wednesday.
32-year-old Jerrett Hunter-Crawford was charged with child neglect, drunk driving, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct. He's being held on a $3,000 bond.
According to the criminal complaint, a woman called police after observing the driver of a parked minivan seemingly painting his face and throwing glitter on it. She also saw a gun.
Police convinced the defendant to step out of the van. They recovered two guns from the van, which was also carrying a woman and her five children, ages two to eight. Officers said Hunter-Crawford appeared to be under the influence of something and was talking non-stop at a fast pace.
Officers also recovered various pistol magazines and a magazine for an AR-styled gun.
The child neglect charged stemmed from the guns being within reach of the children.
Hunter-Crawford has previous convictions for domestic violence.
