(WGTD)---Kenosha police are investigating a homicide that occurred Monday on the city’s south side.
A 52-year-old man is dead, and a 41-year-old man is in custody as a “person of interest”.
According to a news release, police responded to a report of a possible residential entry in the 8500 blk. of 18th Ave. just before noon. The release says the home was checked and that nobody was found inside.
Nearly three hours later, police responded to the same home for another burglary complaint. The caller observed blood outside the back door which had been forced open.
This time, officers discovered the body of a man in the basement with an apparent knife wound. They also discovered a dog with a similar wound that passed away shortly after officers arrived.
