A Racine-based company hopes its first contract with Foxconn will be a foot-in-the-door to bigger and better things.
Hiram Power Electric is among those companies that recently won contracts to help build Foxconn’s first building in Mt. Pleasant.
Hiram’s contract is for electrical services. But it hopes to eventually sell Foxconn on using the company’s newest product lines and services: 3D modeling and fabrication, designed to save on construction costs.
Co-owner George Trujillo says he hopes it’ll lead to a collaboration on the development of new construction-related technologies. "There's a lot of construction technology that we'd love to explore," Trujillo said in a WGTD News interview.
With or without Foxconn, Hiram hopes to set up an innovation lab within a year, he said.
With the advent of its new construction services, Hiram went from a handful of employees less than two years ago to over 30.
The company was founded in 2005 by Hiram Croft. Bringing his expertise on 3D modeling and fabrication with him, Trujillo, a construction project manager, became involved in the company a little over a year ago.
