A 59-year-old Kenosha man has been accused of robbing the same bank twice. Bond for Jerry Harden was set at $100,000 Friday. According to the criminal complaint, Harden allegedly pulled a gun on tellers at U.S. Bank in the 1800 blk. of 22nd Ave. in April and again in July. One of the tellers was involved in both robberies. She told investigators after the first one that she thought she was going to die. An anonymous tip led authorities to question Harden and subsequently arrest him. Cell phone records, according to the complaint, put Harden near the bank on the days of the robberies.

A 35-year-old man was charged Friday with endangering safety for allegedly cutting a man with a machete-type knife during an altercation outside of the Racine Public Library Thursday afternoon. The criminal complaint lists Duncan Bell's address as a nearby city parking ramp. According to the complaint, the men had been socializing in a residence near where the incident occurred when an argument broke out. The victim needed 15 stitches to close the wound.

An empty kayak found floating in Lake Michigan near Winthrop Harbor late Friday morning touched off a several-hours-long search by the Coast Guard and local police and fire departments. A charter boat spotted the kayak with a life preserver hanging off the side and alerted authorities. A Coast Guard spokesman told WGTD that the search was called off after no missing boater or kayak reports were received. Officers visited several kayak rental outlets.

The Walworth County Sheriff's Dept. is investigating a crash Thursday evening that claimed the life of a motorcyclist. The man was identified as 41-year-old Josua Hammer of Delavan. The crash happened in the Town of Darien in the area of Hwy. 11 and Old Hwy. 89. No additional information was released.
