(WGTD)---The driver of a car that crashed into a utility pole and burst into flames in Racine early Sunday morning is dead. According to a police department Facebook post, the incident occurred in the 5000 blk. of Washington Ave. at about 2:30. The driver was believed to be the only occupant. The Racine County Sheriff's Dept. and the State Patrol were called into assist. An investigation is underway. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the RPD traffic bureau at 262-635-7716.

(WGTD)---Kenosha police have identified the victim of a weekend homicide as a 23-year-old Gurnee man, Malik Boyd. Boyd was shot as he apparently left the Rain Bar at 30th Ave. and Roosevelt Rd. just after 2 a.m. Saturday. According to a news release, officers who were patrolling in the area heard gunshots and responded. They came across a large crowd and a gunshot victim. The victim was carried by rescue to Froedtert Hospital in Pleasant Prairie and was pronounced dead. A social media post on the police department's Facebook page by the bar indicates that the shooting took place in a parking lot not associated with the bar. Police are asking anyone who saw or heard an argument or a disturbance in the area to contact them at 262-605-5203. (WGTD)---A brief hostage-taking incident in Kenosha Saturday morning was the result of a dispute rooted in the defendant's drinking habits. 42-year-old Ricardo Torres has been charged with false imprisonment, possession of a firearm while drunk, disorderly conduct and obstruction. According to the criminal complaint, Torres held his wife and 17-year-old son at gunpoint in the family's home and refused to allow them to leave. The son texted a friend and had him contact police on his behalf. Torres reportedly became enraged after realizing that his house was surrounded. He allegedly told his wife to lie about what had happened. Torres exited the home and was arrested. Police recovered a fully-loaded handgun.
