Rev. Dr. Tony Larsen, Minister of the Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church in Racine, is retiring after 42 years of service at the church. The church is holding an open house celebration on December 15th for anyone in the community who wants to recognize his contributions to the area.
Larsen has been active in a host of community organizations for more than four decades supporting the LGBT Center, Southeast Wisconsin Aids Center, NAMI-Racine, and Sexual Assault Services among others. For the last 25 years, Larsen has held a candlelight vigil whenever a violent death has occurred. He led the Racine area Gay Rights March every spring and recently led immigration vigils in support of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) students and their families.
Community Matters host Linda Flashinski recently sat down with Minister Larsen for an in-depth interview about his service and forthcoming retirement. Click here to listen to the interview.
