Help Sought for Kenosha Assisted Living Fire Victims

Dec. 8, 2024 5:45p

From Frontida Azalea Place:

So many have reached out and asked how they can help our Frontida Azalea Place. We appreciate all of the love! These first hours have been challenging but we now have a handle on what would be the most helpful from our supporters in the community.

As you can imagine, each of our residents are going to be displaced from what they know and love for a bit of time—either at new homes or at the hotel. To help ease our residents’ transitions, we will be making Comfort Baskets for each resident. If you would like to help, our Business Center (702 57th St., Kenosha, WI) will be accepting donations between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

We have 9 women and 10 men and are looking for new:

Scarf, hat and glove sets

Bathrobes

Socks

Deodorant

Shampoo

Conditioner

Body wash

Brushes / combs

Gift cards to Walmart or Kohl’s for clothing

Additionally, we are collecting new Amazon or Google tablets and/or Best Buy gift cards as many of our residents lost theirs in the fire and receiving one would make their Christmas season brighter.

In addition, this challenge has shown a light on the depth of goodness of our team members. They will be well compensated for the work that they are doing, but these additional hours away from their families will certainly take a toll. If you would like, you may bless them with gift cards, especially appreciated are those for gas.

We are so thankful for everyone’s concern and support during this difficult time.
