 Aug. 2, 2020 1a

(WGTD)---A tanker truck loaded with liquid fuel of some sort remained upright and didn't rupture, even though the cab of the truck was heavily damaged in a pre-dawn collision with a car at a Pleasant Prairie intersection Saturday.

The 31-year-old female driver of the car was cited for OWI.

According to Pleasant Prairie Police, the woman allegedly ran a red light at State Highway 165 and County 'H' then struck the tanker. The truck then hit a traffic standard and a control box for the traffic signals.

The woman, a passenger in her vehicle and the truck driver all were injured, although their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The intersection was closed for hours.

Also Saturday:

Caledonia Police identified a woman who was killed in a Friday morning collision with a semi along an I-94 frontage road at Golf Rd. as 47-year-old Kristin Halverson of Franksville.

Police said Halvorson stopped at a stop sign, then moved out into the intersection and was struck by the semi, which had the right-of-way.

And Kenosha Police said a Friday afternoon motorcycle accident at 75th St. and 39th Ave. left the 39-year-old cyclist dead. Officers arrived on scene to find the Kenosha man lying in the intersection. The investigation is continuing.
