Kenosha: New Culvers and Starbucks Plus Other Development News

Sept. 21, 2024 11a; Corrected 9-22 to reflect that the bank building targeted for coffee shop is still a bank for the time being.

Development news in Kenosha to report:

A Culver's is expected to be one of four stores to occupy space in a new plaza that's expected to be built just north of Pick 'n' Save on 18th St.

A Starbucks is expected to go into a North Shore Bank branch building on Green Bay Rd. that's soon to be vacated.

16th Ave. in Kenosha's inner-city is growing. A three-block stretch is about to be paved south of 60th St. City Development Director Tim Casey says the city began acquiring properties several years ago. The new road will break up some long blocks and enable police to keep a closer eye on the neighborhood and make it easier for bicyclists and walkers.

In downtown Kenosha, a former Chase drive-thru has been razed in preparation for construction of a five-story apartment building. It'll be the first structure in a nine-block downtown redevelopment.
