(WGTD)---At least three new bars and restaurants are expected to open in downtown Kenosha this summer.
Kenosha Tap House is expected to replace Ashling on the Lough in HarborPark. According to documents provided by the city, the new place will feature as many as 60 self-pour taps and a light food menu. The operators are part-owners of Geneva Tap House in Lake Geneva.
The long-time owner of Spanky's Bar and Grill on 52nd St. is expected to take over a building on 56th St. that once housed Pazzo's and Mike's Chicken and Donuts. Rick Kavalauskas tells WGTD that while the place will be open to the public his business expects to cater to small and medium-sized groups. In a nod to the former street names at the intersection there, the new establishment will be called "Church & Market." Kavalauskas says he sold Spanky's to a new operator about three years ago. The Kavalauskas family currently operates Tavern on 6th in downtown Kenosha. Pazzo's--when it opened--featured downtown Kenosha's first roof-top bar.
A nearby business that once housed a gaming venture at 621 56th St. will soon become "Hold My Beer." It will combine self-pour taps and six lanes of interactive video games and ax throwing. The new place will be operated by Meghan Mills and Luke Faulkner of Kenosha.
