Suspect Named in One Racine Murder as an Investigation Begins in Another

Updated 3:20 p.m. to reflect suspect identification in earlier murder. 

Racine police named a suspect Wednesday in connection with a fatal Labor Day weekend shooting, just as the investigation began into a another homicide.  

The possible shooting suspect has been identified as 30 year-old Joshua Morris. The victim, 34 year-old Lavelle Monroe, was shot in the 2000 blk. of Howe St. early Sunday morning. Police are looking for the suspect. 

The latest homicide occurred late Tuesday afternoon in the 1100 blk. of Grand Avenue. Police said the stabbing that killed a 36 year-old man was the culmination of a fight between the victim and another man. No other information has been released.
