Zoo Director Says Policies and Procedures in Place
Could what happened at the Cincinnati Zoo happen at the Racine Zoo? Could a toddler end up in a cage with a dangerous animal? Beth Heidorn---the Director of the Racine Zoo---and---Theresa Donarski---the Curator of Conservation and Animal Care---told WGTD that policies and procedures---approved by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums---are in place to keep zoo patrons, staff and animals safe at all times.
Heidorn also said all the exhibits and the perimeter fence Racine Zoo are checked every day for breaches or attempted breaches and if the staff thinks there is an issue it is addressed immediately.
