Racine Unified and Teachers Have Tentative Deal

The days are gone when Racine Unified and its teachers coming to a labor agreement was BIG news given the past history of confrontation. Now--with the impact of Governor Scott Walker’s Act 10---the recent approval of a deal on base wages and supplemental pay barely got any attention at a Board of Education meeting. The tentative agreement---reached a few weeks ago--- for the 2016-17 school term calls for a base wage increase of .12 %---the same number agreed to with teaching assistants and building service employees.
