Possible Kenosha Co. Foxconn Site Confirmed; Kreuser Says He's Ready

Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser says he stands ready to welcome Foxconn and make the development a success for all—if the Taiwanese company would happen to choose a site in Kenosha County.

Multiple sites in both Racine and Kenosha counties are said to be under consideration. The Journal Sentinel has confirmed that some property owners in the Town of Paris just west of I-94 have been approached.

Kreuser was asked about Foxconn while appearing on WGTD’s Morning Show to talk primarily about the 100th anniversary of the Kenosha County park system. Kreuser called Foxconn a great opportunity, but indicated that care has to be taken to make sure the development doesn’t backfire. "When a big company comes, it creates opportunity but you need to be planful  and strategic about it," Kreuser said. "What are the amenities they're going to need?"

Kreuser said he believes Foxconn could be successfully sited somewhere in the area, as long as environmental concerns are addressed and costs are fairly apportioned.

Kreuser made clear that he and Kenosha Mayor John Antaramian, a pair of former state legislators, are up to the challenge. "We're on the back 9 of our careers and we want to continue to put things in place that'll stand the test of time to keep Kenosha a great place to live, work and raise a family," he said.
