NWS Confirms Two Tornadoes in Listening Area

(WGTD)---The National Weather Service has confirmed that two weak tornadoes spun out of the thin line of thunderstorms that moved through the tri-county area Wednesday.

The first tornado developed at 12:17 p.m. east of Lake Geneva and traveled for two-and-a-half miles. N-W-S personnel noted tree top damage and lofted debris.

Three minutes later, another tornado occurred south of Burlington and traveled four miles. The most noticeable damage from this twister was that which occurred to an outbuilding’s roof.

The weather service estimated peak winds for both tornadoes at 65 miles per hour.

Two other weak tornadoes were reported in suburban Milwaukee.
