Starting after Labor Day, the I-94 construction zone between Milwaukee and the state line will be expanded.
Work will begin soon on a 7-and-a-half mile stretch of interstate between Highway 'G' in Racine County and College Ave. in Milwaukee
At least to start with, the impact to travelers won't be quite as severe as the lane reductions that are in place in parts of Kenosha and Racine counties.
Three lanes will be open in each direction in the expanded work zone during peak travel hours. The project will start with shoulder and prep work.
The entire project--completing the expansion and rebuilding of I-94 between Milwaukee and the state line--is expected to be finished. by Memorial Day, 2020.
