Kenosha---Mark Jensen, the defendant in a 14 year-old murder case that gained national attention, was back in court Wednesday.
Jensen is accused of using anti-freeze to kill his wife in the couple's Pleasant Prairie home. He was convicted with the help of a 'letter-from-the-grave' in which Julie Jensen wrote before she died that her husband might be plotting to kill her. A federal appeals court eventually ruled that the letter was improperly used as evidence and ordered a new trial.
Deja Vishny from the Public Defenders Office now has the case. She told Judge Chad Kerkman Wednesday that she probably won't be ready for trial until a year from now.
In the meantime, Jensen remains in the Kenosha County Jail on a bond of $1.2 million.
Another scheduling conference will be held in July.
