Kenosha---An administrative reorganization and several retirements have led to a series of personnel changes at Kenosha Unified.
Two of the district's five high schools will have new principals this fall.
Former Tremper principal Dick Aiello is moving to Reuther, where he'll take over for Karen Walters, who retired. Aiello will be replaced at Tremper by Steve Knecht, who currently serves as the district's athletics and physical education coordinator.
Former Washington Middle School Assistant Principal Brett Basley will become principal at Nash Elementary, replacing Marty Pitts, who recently became a regional coordinator of elementary leadership and learning.
Here's the comprehensive list--in note form--from Kenosha Unified:
"At the June 28 school board meeting, the following were approved:
* Regional coordinator of elementary leadership and learning - Scott Kennow (former principal of Somers Elementary)
* Regional coordinator or elementary leadership and learning - Marty Pitts (former principal of Nash Elementary)
* Interim regional coordinator of secondary leadership and learning – Kim Fischer (assistant principal of Bradford)
* Career and technical education coordinator – Cheryl Kothe (formerly with Wilmot, position vacated by the retirement of Marsha Nelson)
* Coordinator of student support – Lisa Reudiger (formerly as program support teacher with KUSD)
At the July 12 special board meeting, the following were approved:
* Principal of Reuther – Dick Aiello (formerly principal of Tremper, position vacated by the retirement of Karen Walters)
* Director of early education – Luanne Rohde (formerly principal of Forest Park, position vacated by retirement of Belinda Grantham)
* Principal of Nash – Brett Basley (formerly assistant principal of Washington Middle School, position vacated due to Mr. Pitts becoming a coordinator)
* Principal of Tremper – Steve Knecht (formerly coordinator of athletics, PE and recreation, position vacated due to Mr. Aiello accepting role at Reuther)
As you can see, most changes happened due to a reorganizing of the school leadership office and a few retirements. This resulted in various openings throughout the district. Remaining openings will be posted on WECAN (coordinator or athletics, Somers and Forest Park)."
