(Racine)---There's been no additional word from Racine Police on the status of an investigation into a double homicide that occurred early New Year's Day at a corner bar in the Uptown neighborhood.

Gunfire broke out at Rerun's Lounge at 2:30 Sunday morning.

Family members identified the victims as the bar owner, 66-year-old Avery "Rerun" Stewart and a man by the name of Billy Petty.

Police confirmed the deaths Sunday at mid-morning. A release said the shooter was not in custody.

WITI-TV spoke to the grandson of the owner. He said his grandfather--66-year-old Avery "Rerun" Stewart-- was one of the victims.

Akem Stilo said that an argument broke out inside the bar, and one person returned with a gun and started firing.

Rerun's is located just three blocks from a May shooting in which the co-owner of a bar known back then as Mr. Kool's was killed as he tried to break up a disturbance near his tavern.
