WPR Director Details Reasons for Service Realignment

Apr. 17, 2024 2:30p

(WGTD)---Changes in listening patterns is what drove Wisconsin Public Radio to realign its two broadcast services, NPR News & Classical Music and The Ideas Network.

WPR announced last week the formation of two new replacement networks—an all news and talk service and a music-intensive outlet that’ll primarily feature classical music.

WGTD will become part of "WPR News." While classical music is going away from the main channel, many other program features will remain.

WPR Director Sarah Ashworth spoke to Greg Berg on WGTD's Morning Show.

The new ‘news’ network which will air on WGTD will include many programs from the old ‘Ideas’ Network.

WPR’s new music network will be available in this area via WHAD 90.7 and via HD3 that’ll pop up in the coming weeks at 91.1 FM.

There's much more about the alignment right here at wgtd.org and at wpr.org.
