(WGTD)---The new executive director of the Kenosha Community Foundation is out to change mindsets when it comes to philanthropy.
Speaking on a recent edition of WGTD’s Morning Show, Amy Greil said she wants young people to start thinking about creating a legacy for their families by starting a fund sooner rather than later. "We don't want to make it feel that this has to be an elite experience," she said.
A family foundation with tax benefits can be established for as little as $600 a year, with small distributions starting to be made in ten years. The Kenosha Community Foundation will manage the funds and provide help in picking the beneficiaries.
The Foundation also offers a chance to network through participation in events it hosts. "We have events and we offer opportunities for people to network and conect with other like-minded individuals that are not only largely successful in their careers but also are extremely community-minded," Greil said. "I just think to me what a cool club."
While the Kenosha Community Foundation has been around since 1926, Greil is the group’s first full-time director.
