We recently received this photo from the U.S. Navy and thought we'd pass it along with some background on the sailor pictured.
Quartermaster 2nd Class Jacqueline Goods is photographed on the bridge of the USS San Diego, an amphibious transport dock ship, as it plies through the South China Sea. In her role as a Quartermaster of the Watch, Jacqueline is responsible for providing navigational data and recommendations to the Officer of the Deck. She stands this watch for 3 hours, twice a day, in addition to her normal work day duties as Assistant Lead Petty Officer in charge of 7 junior quartermasters.
The 28 year-old Goods is a graduate of both Indian Trail Academy and Gateway Technical College. She joined the Navy in 2013 and recently re-upped for another four years of service.
Her twin brother is a Lt. Junior Grade in the Navy, and both of her parents served (Hiriam Goods Sr. and Marcia Goods).
We wish her well and thank her for her service.
