From WGTD News:
A 2020 county board resolution that declared racism to be a public health crisis in Kenosha County is on the agenda for Thursday night’s regularly-scheduled meeting of the county’s Racial & Ethnic Equity Commission. It’s unclear why. New committee chair Xavier Solis did not return an email message from WGTD. The county board supervisor who introduced the resolution in the wake of the George Floyd and Jacob Blake cases isn’t sure what’s up either. Upon seeing the agenda item, Laura Belsky tells WGTD she sent her rationale for introducing the nearly three-year-old resolution to new county board members over the weekend. Back in 2020, the resolution passed on a vote of 18 to 1. The lone dissenter was Erin Decker, who now serves as vice-chair of the board. Thursday night’s commission meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 in the county’s administration building just west of the courthouse.

Gunfire injured two—possibly three—in a near south-side Kenosha neighborhood early Sunday morning. Just after 1:30, officers on patrol heard numerous gunshots and then dispatch started getting calls of a person shot in the 68-hundred block of 26th Ave. One victim was located at the scene while another showed up at a Kenosha hospital. Later in the morning, police were notified of a third victim that was being treated at an Illinois hospital. All three had non-life-threatening wounds. Police are being hampered in their investigation by little or no cooperation. Anyone with information who wishes to remain anonymous can call Kenosha Area Crime Stoppers at 262-656-7333.
