One Dead, Two Injured, From Gunshots in Kenosha Tuesday Night

June 14, 2023 7:45a; Updated 11:45 with location information

(WGTD)---One person is dead and two others are injured as the result of a shooting incident in Kenosha Tuesday night.

While police haven't confirmed the location, investigators Wednesday morning converged on the north parking lot of Grace Lutheran Church off of 60th St. and 20th Ave.

The investigation began when police were notified by Kenosha's two hospitals that they were treating three gunshot victims.

A 19-year-old man died. The two other victims--ages 21 and 20--suffered non-life-threatening wounds.

In a Facebook post, police bemoaned a lack of cooperation that's hampering the investigation. "Kenosha, we cannot accept that disputes will be solved by gunfire and we must hold those accountable who are responsible for the shootings," they said. "Police need your help. Our children, our families, deserve to live in this city without having to worry about when and where another shooting will be."

The number for the detective bureau is 262-605-5203. Crime Stoppers--where information can be relayed anonymously--is 262-656-7333.
