Ohnstad Endorses Spottswood for Kenosha Mayor

Aug. 7, 2023 5p

(WGTD)---Kenosha mayoral candidate Lydia Spottswood has picked up what appears to be the first major endorsement of the campaign.

Democratic State Representative Tod Ohnstad, a former alderman, issued a statement Sunday, saying he’s endorsing Spottswood not because she’s a Democrat but because of her experience in city government.

Spottswood, who once served on the council herself, had a hand in creating the Kenosha Community Health Center and in a number of economic development initiatives dating back to the creation of the Southport Marina.

Two other candidates are in the race. They are Ald. Dave Bogdala and internet content creator Koerri Elijah.

The election—to replace the retiring John Antaramian—isn’t until next spring.

The position is non-partisan.
