(WGTD)---In one respect, Kenosha Mayor Dave Bogdala’s first month in office has been an extension of his campaign. He’s continuing to meet with people as he strives to build trust and open lines of communication.
Speaking on Wisconsin Public Radio’s new program Wisconsin Today, Bogdala told co-host Rob Ferrett that he’s made the rounds of all of the city’s fire stations, addressed police officers during their roll calls and has recruited new faces for boards and commissions. He’s also met with the leaders of various non-profits. "I love the job. I enjoy it," said Bogdala, adding that his staff has told him he should ease up on his tight schedule.
Bogdala's predecessor, John Antaramian, served a total of 24 years in the office.
Bogdala says he can’t fill Antaramian’s shoes, adding that he believes no one could. "If you were looking for somebody to come in and have all the answers--that's not me. I don't have all the answers. What I do bring to the table is knowing how to bring people together and solve complex problems," he said.
Bogdala encourages citizens to either stay or get engaged. "Everybody has a role to play," he said. "In order for a city to be successful, it takes everybody working together."
