Major Renovation Planned for Matheson Memorial Library in Elkhorn

(WGTD)---The public library in Elkhorn will benefit from a share of $115 million in federal COVID relief funds awarded by the Evers administration to libraries and community centers in Wisconsin. The funds will generally be used to improve public access to broadband. 

Matheson Memorial Library Director Chad Robinson said the library’s allocation--$2.2 million—will be used to renovate existing spaces, such as the library's basement, and expand computer resources. Two classrooms with eight laptop computers, a pair of 'telemedicine rooms and four study rooms are planned. 

Construction is expected to start next year and be complete before the end of 2026.
