Gundlach Scholarships Awarded to 7 High School Seniors

(WGTD)---Seven Kenosha County high school seniors have been awarded Herman and Virginia Gundlach Scholarships worth $3,500 apiece, according to the Kenosha Community Foundation, the organization that administers the endowment fund that's named after Kenosha's first CPA and his wife.

The winners are Justice Brooks from Reuther; Brandon Davis, Tremper; Nathanial Foster, Tremper; Peyton Hoff, Bradford; Gabriella Kaebisch, Westosha; Kailey LaLond, Reuther and Hedaia Zaher, Indian Trail. 

To receive the scholarship, students must attend a college or university in Wisconsin. This year, 23 students from Kenosha County's eight public high schools applied. 

Since the fund's inception in 1994, the fund has awarded over $350,000. 

Herman, who died in 1996, and his wife Virginia, who died in 1978, firmly believed in the virtues of education. according to a Foundation news release.
