Drivers Escape Serious Injury in Rollover Crash

(WGTD)---A car traveling at speeds believed to be in excess of 100 miles per hour rear-ended another in Mt. Pleasant Sunday evening.

The offender wasn't hurt. The driver of the vehicle that was struck was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, according to a news release from Mt. Pleasant police. 

The crash happened on Meachem Rd. (22nd Ave. in Kenosha) just north of the Racine/Kenosha County line. 

Police said 28-year-old Gregory Jelks of Kenosha had been attempting to pass vehicles on the right when he struck the second car. 

Both vehicles left the road and rolled over. 

Jelks is being held on counts of endangering safety, OWI causing injury and bail jumping.
