Brainstorming Smart Urban Development at Carthage College

Nov. 4, 2023 9:30p

(WGTD)---Sustainable urban development…is the topic of the next Carthage College Business and Professional Coalition luncheon coming up this Thursday.

The luncheon will feature a main speaker, but then attendees—deviating from customary practice—will break into small discussion groups to talk about various aspects of urban development, according to event organizer Katherine Keenan. "What you'll notice from these topics is that sustainability is not limited to thinking about the immediate environmental impact but also how you can grow in a way that supports all of the people that are part of an urban context," Keenan said on last Thursday's Morning Show.

Those topics include developing creative economies, urban water issues, data-enabled public health solutions, urban ecosystems and regenerative design, building community and keeping talent, equitable property development, intelligent transportation and urban education.

Anyone is welcome to attend but advance registration is required.
