Baldwin Campaigns in Kenosha

Oct. 24, 2024 3:45p

(WGTD)---Democratic U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin used a campaign stop in Kenosha Wednesday to highlight the differences between herself and her Republican challenger, Eric Hovde.

"On the issue of our reproductive rights and freedoms, Eric Hovde celebrated the Dobbs decision and the overturning of Roe v Wade," Baldwin said. "and whatever he says now he now owns the chaos that has ensued. As you heard, I am leading the charge in the United States Senate to restore Roe v Wade to the entire nation," Baldwin said to applause and cheers.

Speaking before a packed house at Union Park Tavern, Baldwin also reaffirmed her strong support for the Affordable Care Act, a law that she helped write.

Baldwin was introduced by the leaders of Emily’s List and Reproductive Freedom for All. The tavern where she spoke is co-owned by Ben DeSmidt, a former Carthage professor and current state Assembly candidate.

The campaigning continues Thursday in Kenosha with a visit by Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, husband of Vice-President Kamala Harris. He’ll be appearing at the Vault banquet hall in downtown Kenosha late in the afternoon.

Monday evening in Racine, Republican Vice-Presidential candidate J.D. Vance will lead a rally at Memorial Hall.
