Rebroadcast from 2004- Greg Borowski, author of "First and Long: A black school, a white school, and their season of dreams." The book chronicles what happened back in 2001 when a mostly white public high school in an affluent suburb, Shorewood, and a mostly black private high school with mostly inner city students, Messmer, created a combined football program. A dcoumentary film ("Messwood") that updates the story to the present day is being screened at UW-Parkside Saturday, May 20th, at 6:30 in the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities.
