Dr. Jonathan Shailor's guest on today's "Education Matters." is Christopher Shailor.
Christopher Shailor is a retired drama instructor who taught for 36 years at Hamilton-Wenham
Regional High School, a public high school nestled in a partly rural, partly suburban community
on the North Shore of Massachusetts, just 30 minutes north of Boston. Between 1985 and
2021, Christopher developed a full theatre curriculum for the school, ran the after-school
drama program, which he called Theatre Workshop, and contributed to the school and the
surrounding community in many other ways. He and his students produced an amazing
diversity of established and original shows over the years. Practically every year, Christopher
and his students participated in the State Drama Festival sponsored by the Massachusetts
Educational Theatre Guild, where their one-act plays often took first or second place. On
several occasions, they represented the state of Massachusetts at the New England Drama
Festival.
