Steil to Hold a Telephone Town Hall; Dems Press for In-Person

Mar. 20, 2025 9:40a

(WGTD)---1st District Congressman Bryan Steil will hold a telephone town hall meeting next week. It’s scheduled for Monday evening at five.
Constituents can monitor the call by registering in advance online (link is external)or by calling Steil's office at 608-752-4050.

The event comes as opposition builds to the massive cost-cutting initiative undertaken by Elon Musk at President Trump’s behest.

Steil’s office says Monday’s telephone town hall will be the third of the year. Steil--a Janesville Republican-- has also reportedly hosted four in-person town halls.

Thursday evening at the Kenosha Union Club, the Kenosha County Democratic Party is holding a town hall to press Steil to hold additional in-person meetings.

Kenosha County Democratic Party Chair Lori Hawkins says the telephone towns are poor substitutes for in-person sessions where unvetted questions are asked.  She questions why Steil can attend political rallies but can't meet face-to-face with constituents.

The Union Club event is to begin at 6:30.

Hawkins says participants will be able to freely voice their concerns and fears and ask questions.
