Our guest is Alex Hitz, author of a book which is a combination cookbook and memoir: "My Beverly Hills Kitchen: Classic Southern Cooking with a French Twist." Hitz grew up in Georgia at the height of the civil rights movement in an interesting family. (His stepfather was the famed choral conductor Robert Shaw.)
