(WGTD)---A drunk driving citation that had been issued to an off-duty Racine County Sheriff’s deputy has been thrown out of court. And Isabella Lock’s attorney tells WGTD that his client has been reinstated by the department with no discipline.
According to a report in the Kenosha News last month, a Kenosha County Sheriff’s deputy had issued the ticket in early December after Lock’s boyfriend, a former Kenosha police officer, had alerted authorities to Lock’s supposed condition. The two reportedly had been arguing after having attended a family function in which alcohol was consumed. The 28-year-old Lock drove off with a child in the vehicle.
Deputies who pulled Lock over said a breathalyzer test indicated she was legally drunk. But attorney Pat Cafferty said a blood test taken afterward at a hospital showed that his client had no alcohol in her system.
Responding to a request for comment, a Kenosha County Sheriff's Dept. spokesman elaborated on the traffic stop: "Lock had admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages. Lock had provided a preliminary breath test that gave a result greater than 0.08% BAC, and Lock did not pass all the field sobriety tests. Lock was then transported to a local hospital for a blood draw."
