KUSD Buildings on 'Secure Hold' Following Incident at a School; Lockdown Extended to GTC

(WGTD)---A suspicious person at a Kenosha Unified elementary school Thursday morning prompted the district to prohibit ingress and egress to all school buildings. 

According to the police department and school district, an individual entered a secure vestibule at Roosevelt Elementary with suspicious bags then fled into the neighborhood when confronted. 

Police are trying to identify the person. A security camera image has been posted. 

The district announced it's holding morning kindergarten students and canceled afternoon 4K. No decision has been made on dismissal and after school activities. 

The KUSD lock-down has been extended to Gateway Technical College buildings in Kenosha. 

Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie police along with sheriff's deputies are participating in the search for the suspicious individual and are patrolling school grounds.
