Jan 2, 2024 8:10p; 1-11 changed 'Miller' to 'Millar'

(WGTD)---There’s strong interest this time around in running for a seat on the Kenosha County Board. 15 of the 23 positions will be contested in April.

Seven incumbents will have no opposition. They are Bill Grady, Laura Belsky, Daniel Gaschke, Gabe Nudo, John Franco, Dave Geersten and Aaron Karow. In addition, Kenosha City Administrator John Morrissey is the only candidate on the ballot for John O’Day’s seat. O’Day decided against a re-election bid.

Three other incumbents are stepping down. They are Ed Kubicki, Jeff Wamboldt and Amanda Nedweski. Nedweski was recently elected to the state Assembly. Candidates seeking her seat on the county board are Frederick Brookhouse and Erica Millar. On the ballot in Kubicki’s district are Andres Gama and Duane O’Keefe. Meanwhile,  Eric Meadows—who’s stepping down from the Kenosha School Board—is running against Justine Hammelev Jones for Wamboldt’s seat.

A dozen incumbents have challengers.

Stephanie Knezz is challenging Terry Rose. Incumbent Jeff Gentz will be going up against Annette Flynn. Brian Thomas is being challenged by David Arrington. Incumbent Zach Rodriguez will face Sarah Kirby. Andy Berg has drawn opposition from Felix Garcia. Guida Brown will challenge Zach Stock. Incumbent Tim Stocker will face Roseann Baldauf-Shales. Monica Yuhas will seek re-election against Jonathan Butenuth. Incumbent Brian Bashaw will face Keith Gray. John Poole will be challenged by Michael LaForge. Incumbent Mark Nordigian will go up against Steven Mudroch and incumbent Erin Decker will face Ray Arbet.

No primary elections are needed.
