Huge Barn Fire in Somers

Firefighters from 7 departments responded to an early morning barn fire in Somers Wednesday. When the first responders arrived around 3:45 AM---a barn at 7104 38th Street was fully-engulfed in flames. The property owner said the barn was filled with 5,000 bales of straw---farm equipment---and---recreational vehicles.

County Highway S/Washington Road was closed most of the morning.

Fire departments from Somers---Randall---Paris---Caledonia---Kansasville---and---Burlington---as well as---the Racine Fire Belles were on the scene.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined---the investigation continues.
