(WGTD)---A guard at the women's prison in Union Grove allegedly sexually assaulted a female inmate three times during a two-week-long period, according to a criminal complaint filed on Monday against a Milwaukee man.
34-year-old James Faulkner has been charged with three counts of 2nd degree sexual assault by correctional staff, and one count apiece of strangulation and suffocation and felony intimidation of a victim. Faulkner was placed Monday under house arrest with GPS monitoring and ordered to have no contact with the Ellsworth Correctional Facility.
According to the criminal complaint, the alleged assaults occurred in an office while the victim was working on a paint crew, in a bathroom and in a kitchen area. In one case, another inmate reportedly acted as a look-out for Faulkner. The defendant also allegedly choked the victim before initiating sexual contact, and threatened her by suggesting he'd recommend that she be sent back to the Taycheedah prison if she refused to do what he wanted.
After performing oral sex, the victim reportedly spit on her shirt in order to preserve evidence in case authorities wouldn't believe her.
When confronted, Faulkner initially denied having sex, but then said the sex was consensual. When searched, Faulkner was found to have a six-inch folding razor knife which the complaint said isn't allowed in the prison.
