A social service organization has put together a public transit forum to address city bus service in Kenosha. CUSH---Congregations United to Serve Humanity---has the meeting set for this Thursday afternoon---from 1-2:30---at the Civil War Museum. Sandra Milligan---from CUSH---said they want to make it clear to public officials---community and agency leaders---and---the general public that quality public transit is good for the whole community. She said that one of the underlying problems for public transit in Kenosha is that the bus service is under-utilized. She also explained that there are more and more target groups than ever who want public transit.
CUSH is organizing a campaign---with Kenosha Area Transit---to increase bus ridership. They are working on a free “Try the Bus Day” on Friday, November 4th. Milligan said they want to address the biggest gaping holes in bus service---2nd and 3rd shift and weekends---especially Sundays.
