Gang Busted Up; Racine Homicide Solved; Alleged Drug Dealer Facing Murder Charge

Law enforcement agents sweeping through southeast Wisconsin and northern Illinois Thursday rounded up 28 members and associates of a particularly dangerous street gang, the Maniac Latin Disciples. Seized were vehicles, weapons, body armor, ammunition, more than 40 pounds of marijuana and cocaine and over $80,000 in cash from more than 20 different locations. The suspects are facing both federal and state charges stemming from drug trafficking, armed robberies and shootings. Two gang members are still being sought. Agencies that participated in the operation included police officers and sheriff's deputies from both Racine and Kenosha counties.
